“Who are we?” It’s the question we all ask when we begin genealogy work – who am I? How did I get here? Who are the people in my line that made it possible for me to live today?
Our lineage starts in 1996, with a small but dedicated group of friends who wanted a place to come together to discover their family history. A simple mission that had now grown into the Vermont Genealogy Library, home of the Vermont French-Canadian Genealogical Society, a place of genealogical research for all in search of the people, places, and stories that make up who we are today.
We provides resources, classes, and expert help for individuals researching their Vermont, French-Canadian, Scottish, English, Irish, or German family ancestry. Trained volunteers staffing the library and digital research center help members with their questions. Online resources include a forum with surname research, our library catalog, and access to exclusive Catholic Vermont Baptism and Vermont Marriage records.
Who are we? We’re passionate, dedicated, expert amateur genealogists. We’re researchers, historians, and friends. We’re here to help, so that you can more easily say, “Now I know” about your family tree.
In the end, we’re you. Won’t you join us?
